Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 · Annex XIII
Battery Passport Hub publishes a digital passport for every battery you place on the EU market. Your master data stays where it already lives — Stibo STEP — and the platform turns each approved record into a public, QR-linked passport that anyone can open.
Master data — specifications, materials, carbon footprint and due diligence — arrives over webMethods at the platform's inbound API.
Each product gets one passport ID and a matching QR code. That link is sent back to STEP, so both systems always point at the same record.
Anyone with the QR — customer, technician, recycler — opens the public passport page. No account needed, and it works on a phone.
An adapter layer maps STEP products (and later Maximo assets) into one passport schema, so the source system can change without touching the pages.
Carbon footprint by life-cycle stage, material shares and recycled content, hazardous substances, supplier due diligence, certifications and end-of-life guidance.
Status follows the battery through its life: original, repurposed, re-used, remanufactured or waste, with health and cycle data that updates over time.
Publicly visible by design. The code is generated by the platform and returned to STEP so the passport can be identified from either side.
Viewers manage product information and publishing. Admins additionally hold the connection settings, API keys and deletions.
Calls to and from webMethods run on the server, so credentials never reach a browser and inbound pushes are checked against issued API keys.
